Sergi Canós has become Valencia CF’s latest addition to the squad, returning to his homeland after several years abroad to play at the club he has supported since childhood.
Born in Nules, Castellón, on February 2nd, 1997, Canós spent his formative years in first his town and then FC Barcelona’s La Masía system.
It was not long before he headed abroad, beginning an adventure in England with Liverpool. After an initial loan spell at Brentford, the Spaniard came back to Merseyside and debuted for Liverpool’s first team aged 19.
After a season at Norwich, Brentford acquired Canós’ services on a full-time basis, and he was part of the side who earned an historic promotion to the Premier League.
His first experience in the English top flight was last term, in a season he split into two halves: Out on loan at Olympiacos, he scored 4 goals in 8 appearances in the Greek Super League.
Canós now awaits his first experience in LaLiga, with a club that he has long supported, at Valencia CF.
